Sunday School meets from mid-September to May, except during school holidays. This year we’re following along with the age-appropriate versions of The Story.
Kindergarten-8th grade Sunday School students meet before worship at 9 a.m.; preschoolers meet during worship, after the children’s moment. An adult Bible study group also gets together to take on special and seasonal topics.
The Teaching ministry recruits Sunday School teachers, selects the curriculum and plans our Christian Education events throughout the year. But we’re much more than Sunday School; there’s always something on the horizon.
Our Christmas celebration starts with Advent workshop, an afternoon of crafts and fellowship for all ages. Then there’s Christmas caroling, our Christmas pageant, and the annual Stone Soup lunch to get you into the spirit of the season.
We serve lunch at Jackon Interfaith Shelter on one Sunday in January, March, May, July, September and November, with our eight-grade confirmation class traditionally providing a homemade chili supper in January.
The Teaching ministry also coordinates our summertime Vacation Bible School, hosts the Happy Chelsea Young Adults, and kicks off the Sunday School year with Rally Day, an all-ages open house in September.
